Getting to know Jake…
Since 2014, Jake Rose has been the TV play-by-play broadcaster for the Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders. He calls Blue Raider football, baseball, and men’s and women’s basketball for the award-winning Media Art Productions and the Blue Raider Network. His MTSU broadcasts have been seen nationally on ESPN 3, ESPN+, and beIN Sports. Since 2017, he has called TSSAA state championship baseball and basketball games, televised statewide across Tennessee and online via the NFHS Network.
On radio, Jake spent several seasons as the secondary play-by-play voice for the Blue Raider baseball program, filling in for the legendary Dick Palmer on The Blue Raider Network. He was also a contributor for AthlonSports.com from 2014 to 2023, where he primarily covered the NFL, as well as Major League Baseball, college football and basketball. His “The 1986 New York Mets: Where Are They Now” and “MLB Ballparks and Stadiums, From Worst to Best” pieces were featured in Sports Illustrated's (SI.com) "Extra Mustard" section.
Over the years, Jake has proven to be much more than just a writer and play-by-play voice. From 2008 to 2010, he was the co-host and co-producer of the “Beau and the Benchwarmer” sports talk radio show on 91.3 WCRD in Muncie, Indiana. Since moving to Nashville in 2013, the Indianapolis native has had a multitude of broadcasting experiences:

Jake graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in August of 2016 with a degree in multimedia journalism and a minor in athletic coaching. At MTSU, he learned the ins, outs, and intricacies of broadcasting while working as a video intern for the university’s athletic communications department. Jake also served as a morning sports anchor for MT10 News, where he earned the “Best Sports Anchor Award” for the fall 2015 semester.
When not covering sports, Jake works full-time at the Tennessee General Assembly, where he is the Senior Policy Advisor for the Tennessee Senate Clerk’s Office.
